What does my development setup look like in 2026? I’ll share some of my favorite tools here.
- macOS - my host OS
- Neovim for editing text and code
- Ghostty - a minimal cross-platform terminal with a native UI for macOS
- Fish - a shell with sensible defaults
- OrbStack for a container runtime and virtual machines; I usually run Fedora but I’m hoping to try NixOS soon
- Berkeley Mono - a fun font
- Nix - I’m planning to transition from Homebrew to Nix
- Claude - the agent + series of LLMs which I use most often
